Conversion Project VEGA

The 46.03-metre Asi-Verken conversion superyacht Vega has been moved in preparation for the next stage of her refit. Vega came out of the shed at Stahlbau Nord, in Bremerhaven Germany and was moved on a pontoon to the harbour in Bremen.

The superyacht conversion project was last seen in 2020 when she arrived in Bremerhaven, Germany in an incomplete condition from Penzance in the South of England. Launched in 1964 from the Asi Shipyard in Sweden, Vegastarted life as an ice-breaking vessel that served as a lighthouse supply ship.

Vega was acquired by a Swedish company over 20 years ago and transported to the Penzance Dry Dock facility in Cornwall, UK, with the intention of converting her into a luxury explorer yacht.

Vega features exterior design from Stolk Marimecs and interior design penned by Ken Freivokh Design. During her conversion, an aluminium superstructure was added to her original steel hull, she was extended and new engines were installed.
