Explorer Yacht with size of 126,2m x 21,8m
built by Lürssen shipyard at HDW in Kiel in 2003
The 126 meter long Octopus is one of the largest and most spectacular examples of an all-encompassing yacht and expedition ship, equipped with highly developed technology. Espen Øino International designed the striking exterior with a blue and white hull and superstructure, with two helipads and a hangar tail. The superyacht is suitable for expeditions and research trips that require spending several months at sea. One of her key features is an integrated dock for the 20-meter dinghy and two submarines for exploring marine life, one of which is remotely controlled to reach greater depths. Octopus also houses a professional music studio and a grandiose cinema designed by interior desig
ner Jonathan Quinn Barnett.
First owner was Paul Allen, Microsoft.
Big refit was done in 2014 and 2019 at Blohm & Voss shipyard.
Since 2021 it was sold to Roger Samuelsson, a schwedic Pharma-billionaire.
